Mark Hagood - OwnerAn Idaho native, Mark moved to Issaquah with his family as a child. He graduated from Issaquah HS, attended Bellevue Community College, receiving a Business & Marketing Degree in 1975. Shortly thereafter, beginning his career in the Grocery industry. He has managed Thriftway stores in Federal Way, Boulevard Park, Burien, and Renton. In the 1980's, Mark and his wife bought several independent grocery stores, including a grocery and catering business in Seattle's Pike Place Market. By 1994, Mark had fully divested out of the grocery business and decided to take some time off. In 1997, his friend Gordon Gaube, and at that time current owner of the Red Apple Market (now Maple Valley Market), was leaving the business. Mark decided it was time to get back into the business and purchase the market. Mark repaired and revamped the store with an updated inventory, local specialty items, fresh local produce, full service deli, and upscale wine and beer varieties. Mark and his family have lived in Maple Valley since 1991. |
